Good Morning Ladies,
Have you been doing much sewing lately? I sure have...bridesmaid dresses, fleece beanies for my son in Iraq, and I finished a quilt. Remember my new rule...finish 2 and you get to start a new one. Actually with so many being close to done, I'm working hard to complete them, it feels very nice.
This quilt called Pansy Park is from Thimbleberries and is a block of the month sampler type. Now that's done, I realize it's just to big for my bed and will have to go to someone-elses house. Think it will be my mom (It's a secret, and she doesn't do the computer).
The Paisley website has been very busy too, thanks to all you ladies! I've got another pattern moving from the back burner to the front burner. I love the challenge of creating a new design. Ironing out all the wrinkles takes some time though.
Only 8 days til the wedding, in some ways having a short time is better...less time to fret and spend money. Our son in Iraq gave us 4 weeks...and this one did the same. They must be related, hah!
The bride found an absolutely beautiful satin dress at a second hand store for $47.00. I only needed to take a smidge at the waist and she's ready to go. She tells me that it's just like the one she saw in a bride magazine for $6000.00. I think that makes her the winner, don't you? Even the hem was right. The Lord does details too! Need to go and finish the maids dresses and those beanies.
If you know of a soldier in Iraq...and we all do, these beanies are wonderful. They are black stretchy fleece and fit their heads like a sock. But it's an extra layer of warmth under those cold helmets. They have no hem, and are just zigzagged together. If anyone wants the pattern, just hollar and I'll figure out how to get it to you.
Have a great Thanksgiving holiday everyone!
Katie
