Buckle Jumper Pattern
This is a great pattern for the lady who wants to make a jumper that looks like it came off the rack (but better)!
Instructions are given for top stitching and using heavy thread. The Paisley Pincushion really was trying to make a professional looking jumper……and I think this does the trick.
Jumper is not a “sack” fitting type…..it has darts in the back and an flared skirt. You can look ready for the “country” life and still look like alady at the same time.
The hem is deeper than the usual 5/8″, so it doesn’t curl. I like to wash it, then dry for maybe 10-15 minutes, then finish on a hanger. Because of the top-stitching, it doesn’t even need ironing.; Yeah!!!
Make up in med. wt. denim or linen……fabrics that are a bit heavier than quilter’s cotton. I’ve done it in corderoy also.
If you are thinking…..where will I get the hardware?……I live in the sticks.!…….try ebay……or a second hand store and grab an old pair of overalls in the men’s department. Then add some new metal buttons and you are good to go.
